‘Quarter Of Employees Seeking New Work’ Survey Warns Employers

A new survey organised by the Home Learning College has suggested that over a quarter of those currently in employment are searching for new work and not informing their present employer, with more than a third in total looking into new job opportunities.

There are also some statistical differences when it comes to men and women being honest to their employer about their activities. Whilst 31% of women told their boss that they were looking into new work, men seemed to be more open, with almost 40% claiming they had informed their employer.

The survey further suggested that that more than 78% of those seeking new jobs are doing so ‘secretly’.

The academic director at the Home Learning College, Dave Snow, said: “Employers should be aware that a vast proportion of their workforce is actively seeking, or at least considering, their next move.

“Organisations hoping to emerge from the recent economic downturn in one piece should do all they can to ensure staff are engaged, productive and happy.”

Another survey released earlier in the week uncovered the fact that a majority of those employed over the past year have been given a real terms pay cut.
