Government Support For New Entrepreneurs

PM David Cameron has revealed plans to support the creation of 40,000 new enterprises over the next two years through the provision of loans and grants to start-up companies.

The New Enterprise Allowance was first announced in October and was anticipated to help only half that number of start-up companies. The new higher target forms part of a major new approach to the way the government supports new businesses. The trial of the scheme will begin in Merseyside this month before application natonwide later in the year

Mr Cameron commented: “It is vital that we ensure businesses, and those people who find themselves out of work but have the drive and desire to set up their own business, have all the advice, support and mentoring they need. Together we can make the years ahead some of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial in our history.”

Unemployed people who qualify for the scheme and can show a solid business plan will receive allowances of £1,275 over 6 months plus support from volunteer mentors from their local business community.
