Franchises Are Safest Option For New Entrepreneurs

A recent report has reasoned that franchising is the safest business option for new entrepreneurs, claiming that 90% of new franchises thrive on set up.

The FDS (Franchise Development Services) has published its first complete report on this growing UK industry, released in line with National Franchise Week, which runs between September 27 and October 3. It is said that people numbering over 250,000 are readily considering building their own franchised businesses, with 1500 companies growing their franchising operations on a nationwide scale.

Roy Seaman, Managing Director at FDS, was quoted as saying: “The franchise industry’s good health is evident. So far this year, 146 new franchisors have entered the market in the UK providing increasing opportunities for people to own their own business.

“The major banks with franchise departments are actively loaning money to the franchise sector. People who have been made redundant or have simply lost their job are exploring franchising as a proven business format for their skills, energies and ambitions.”

October 1 and Saturday October 2 will see more than 150 franchising opportunities exhibiting at The National Franchise Exhibition held at the NEC Birmingham.
